SPRINGTIME in LINCOLNSHIRE with ANCIENT FORESTS, REEDBEDS and SEABIRD CLIFFS.
9th to 14th May 2023 - 5 Nights
Let us introduce you to LINCOLNSHIRE and a couple of its neighbouring counties at its peak time in spring.
In our home county wader migration will be in full swing at the RSPB flagship reserve at Frampton Marsh. Just over the border at Langford in Nottinghamshire there is an opportunity to see / hear up to 10 species of Warbler on a single site with Bitterns and Hobbies also around. Just a little further afield is the ancient Sherwood Forest and Budby Common, two very differing habitats.
Very close to the accommodation at Whisby Nature park we will hope to connect with Nightingales, other local pits should reveal large numbers of Sand Martins. If there are any more unusual species around we will endeavour to find them.
Over the border the jewel of the Yorkshire coast – Bempton with its magnificent cliffs thronging with thousands of Seabirds is easily reached over the Humber Bridge from our base at Lincoln, it is a spectacular sight with its own sounds and smells at this time of year, it is also a great place to see fast declining Tree Sparrows.
With a real mix of locations, species and habitats this will be a trip not to be missed.
